EQUIPMENT – Chrome radiator grille, wrap-round chrome bumper, growler radiator badge, power assisted steering, hand matched walnut facia, rear on/off and directional ventilation controls, individual front ashtrays, cigar lighter, push-push switches, map reading lamp, six gauge instrument cluster, front and rear electric windows, lockable glove box with vanity mirror and internal central locking.

EXTERIOR - This distinguished Jaguar XJ6 Long Wheel Base is finished in Moroccan Bronze (267). The factory original paintwork displays a stunning polished shine and uniform finish, accentuated by the chrome side strips and lovey contrasting red coach line. Absolutely corrosion free, the impeccable paintwork has been remarkably well preserved with a recent refurbish to an incredible standard. A slight area of paint lift at the rear 4.2 badge is evident, but does not offend. A spotlessly clean engine compartment completes the appeal of this well preserved low mileage example.

INTERIOR - A sumptuous, clean interior is trimmed in original Jaguar Magnolia (code AEM) and is complemented by burr walnut veneer on the dashboard, all perfectly presented. The protective carpet mats are still in place and are wearing free, commensurate with an example of such low mileage. As ever, the sadly ill-fitting factory headlining has recently been replaced by a German specialist upholsterer. The sculptured supple leather seats are ridiculously comfortable offering superb levels of comfort - for all drivers. Just lovely...

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION - The superlative in-line six cylinders well proven XK 4.2 litre engine produces 245bhp and offers effortless reserves of performance. The Borg-Warner 3-speed automatic model 65 transmission is beautifully matched to the XK engine giving the perfect driving combination and is at ease in today’s hectic traffic conditions. A recent ‘head off’ re-commissioning has been a superb investment.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES – The silver painted 15inch steel wheels have unmarked chrome Jaguar hub-caps with growler badges and are standard fitments finishing the striking exterior impact of the vehicle. All four tyres have ample tread and are correctly sized at 205/70 R15. Servo-assisted disc brakes all-round with ventilated discs at the front and separate hydraulic circuits offer excellent stopping power for a weighty car. Umbrella handbrake system holds the car well.

HISTORY FILE - Registered new on the 24th November 1978 by Mann Egerton Co Ltd in Nottingham, this four owner example has covered just 32,168 miles from new. The original Passport to Service booklet displays many stamped entries from Mann Egerton and independent Jaguar specialists, along with many MOT certificates from new to fully support the incredibly low mileage. The car was dormant from 1989 – 2005, travelling just over 100 miles before re-emerging in 2012 with a few miles more. Recently supplied by Jaguar Specialist Miles Classics before moving to Germany. It has since benefited from a €3000 engine recommissioning including full ‘head off’ inspection. The car now probably drives better than it did when leaving the factory.
