EQUIPMENT – Chrome radiator grille, wrap-round chrome bumper, growler radiator badge, power assisted steering, hand matched walnut facia, on board trip computer, individual front ashtrays (never used), cigar lighter, push-push switches, map reading lamp, electric windows, lockable glove box with vanity mirror, central locking, cruise control, heated driver’s seat and electric lumbar support. The air conditioning is in fine working order following a recent service and gas recharge.

EXTERIOR – This is an original European specification vehicle finished in Jet Black with the quad headlamps and US style front indicators added in the 1990’s whilst being extensively used in Paris. The yellow fog lights confirm its “French Connection” and add a little “je ne sais quoi”. Both front wings have recently benefitted from new paint eradicating some accumulated small dings and now look fine. Karmann’s contribution to the XJS model is well documented and no one can deny this drop dead gorgeous design which still turns heads wherever you go – from both young and old. The mohair hood is in wonderful condition as is the rear toneau cover. A lovely touch is the Jaguar embossed winter cover which is still in its original bag along with the bonnet wing mat.

INTERIOR - The Doeskin leather interior has a nice patina and could be improved but, it’s still a lovely place to ‘take a pew’. The seats are firm and appear to have been rarely sat in confirming the low mileage. The switchgear operates correctly; the woodwork is fine and a new Ski-Slope centre dash section has recently been fitted. A new hood headlining has vastly improved the overall interior feeling but, who’d want to drive this with the hood up?

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION – The 5.3 ‘High Efficiency’ HE engine, assisted by Lucas fuel injection, cruises with ridiculous ease making it difficult not to grin as she eats up the miles. With 291 bhp, the quoted 146 mph figures are easily achievable but also propel the car from 0-60 in 8 seconds. The engine bay is beautifully detailed and worthy of any show.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES – Forged sports alloy 6.5 x 15in Lattice wheels are virtually unmarked with the centre caps perhaps worth a mention with some evident pitting. All four corners are shod in Pirelli P600 235/60 R15 tyres with ample tread. The electronically controlled anti-lock braking system with YAW control grips relentlessly to all four discs offering safe, consistent and predictable stopping power.

HISTORY FILE – Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate No: 43324. Registered new on the 8th of April 1988 to Jaguar Cars Ltd, Browns Lane with LHD European specification, this early built car (January 21 1988) was used by Jaguar UK for export shows. The second owner owned the car for just one year before being purchased by Mr Ian Hallett in November 1989, who clearly coveted the car for 26 years and fastidiously maintained it before sadly passing in early 2015. Jaguar service stamps are evident up to 1992 (94,000 km’s); thereafter it has been used sparingly; averaging a mere 2600 km’s p.a. In recent years it’s been maintained by specialist XJSstuff in Surrey. A comprehensive history folder is a fascinating read and a joy for any Jaguar enthusiast.

We are privileged to offer this significant motor car to the market place which is likely to appeal to a Jaguar aficionado who will be keen to add this unique car to his or her collection.

Available with UK or German registration.
