A rare Jaguar XJ6 Coupe Series 2 with just 72,168 miles.

A rare Jaguar XJ6 Coupe Series 2 with just 72,168 miles and no history.

EQUIPMENT – Chrome radiator grille, wrap-round chrome bumper, growler radiator badge, power assisted steering, hand matched walnut facia, rear on/off and directional ventilation controls, individual front ashtrays, cigar lighter, push-push switches, map reading lamp, six gauge instrument cluster, front and rear electric windows, lockable glove box with vanity mirror and internal central locking.

EXTERIOR – Just three previous owners, this is a solid, well preserved and very useable coupe which presents nicely in its colour change light blue metallic paintwork. Originally a Moroccan Bronze car, a previous owner (2013) took the decision to give the car a more up-to-date hue with what appears to have been a high quality repaints. The front valance sadly shows a touched up scar with a tiny show of corrosion at the rear valance. Both are redeemable at little cost. We’ve had a massive dilemma whether to return the car to its original colour or simply offer it as it appears. The new owner should decide and enjoy this wonderful opportunity to drive and potentially restore one of these rare modern classics. Incredibly, only 37 of these 4.2 Coupes were produced in 1978, its last year of production (Wikipedia – Jaguar XJ-C).

INTERIOR - The biscuit velour interior might not have the cache of leather, but the condition is time-warp. The seats are firm and appear to have been rarely sat in, the switchgear operates correctly, the woodwork is fine and a recent headlining and other trim makes this a nice atmosphere to play!

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION - The superlative in-line six cylinders well proven XK 4.2 litre engine produces 245bhp and offers effortless reserves of performance. The Borg-Warner 3-speed automatic model 65 transmission is beautifully matched to the XK engine giving the perfect driving combination and is at ease in today’s hectic traffic conditions. Lighter than its Saloon brother the Coupe offers fantastic acceleration and drives superbly.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES – The silver painted 15inch steel wheels have unmarked chrome Jaguar hub-caps with growler badges and are standard fitments finishing the striking exterior impact of the vehicle. All four tyres have ample tread and are correctly sized at 205/70 R15. Servo-assisted disc brakes all-round with ventilated discs at the front and separate hydraulic circuits offer excellent stopping power for a weighty car.

HISTORY FILE - As a three owner car it would be very nice to have a file full of history and supporting paperwork but, unfortunately this has been lost along the way, therefore the condition is the only guide to how well this car has been cared for. Recently supplied by Jaguar Specialist Miles Classics before moving to Germany, the car is offered un-restored with the price including shipping to the UK and a new MOT.
