A sympathetic restored 1973 MGB Roadster

HISTORY FILE – Registered new in the UK on the 1st April 1973 (RYN604L), our original, Matching Numbers chrome bumper model offers an interesting history: Arriving in Germany in March 1996, imported by a British Army Officer it remains within the military registration system (BFG) British Forces Germany until acquiring German registration TÜV in November 2015. It then under goes a complete cosmetic restoration to a high standard culminating in the wonderful car you see today.

EXTERIOR Finished in MG’s popular Flame Red (BLVC 61), this Roadster presents beautifully with a bright polished finish following a respray in October 2016. All panels are damage free and structurally excellent with all chrome elements replaced with new parts displaying an impressive shine. Importantly, all window seals have also been replaced and improve the overall look superbly. All 5 Rostyle wheels have been completely shot-blast restored and painted, now finished with new chrome trim rings with new chrome wheel nuts. The Whitewall trims add a touch of class but can be also be removed. The quality mohair hood is in excellent condition and is accompanied with a new ½ tonneau. A fantastic example of this classic fun sports car.

INTERIOR The factory original seats have been replaced with black high quality leather covers and head restraints with red piping, and are in superb condition. All the controls, gauges and switches are set in a walnut fascia and centre console and function correctly. A modern radio is an added bonus with quality door speakers. The boot area has been treated to a new quality carpet set with a new spare carpet cover. All other interior carpeted areas present well. An accessory ‘wind-breaker’ is a nice modern addition.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSIONThis four cylinder engine with a five bearing counterbalanced crankshaft produces 84bhp at 5250rpm and offers ample performance for daily use. The tough, well proven BMC ‘B’ series engine is a simple unit with brilliant access and fantastic parts availability, every classic car owners dream! The four-speed all synchromesh gearbox gives sporty performance coupled with surprisingly good fuel economy. The electrically controlled overdrive offers a smooth change.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKESThe RO style (Rubery Owen) wheels have been completely shot-blast restored and painted and are shod with new Vantra 165 R14C tyres with whitewall trims, which can also be removed if so desired. High quality new chrome Trim Rings finish them off with - of course - new chrome wheel nuts. The boot mounted spare has also been completely restored with a new tyre and sits beneath a new boot liner and spare wheel cover. The hydraulic brakes with servo assistance employing discs at the front and 10 inch drums at the rear offer adequate stopping power.

The new owner should be absolutely thrilled.
