EQUIPMENT – Chrome bumpers, seat belts, dashboard rear view mirror, rear number plate light, interior lamp, door mounted drivers mirror, tonneau cover, cockpit cover, new hood with frame, trip and mileage recorder, chrome hand brake and passenger grip, MPH tachometer, water temperature gauge. Factory options: fresh air heater & boot luggage rack.

EXTERIOR - This delightful MG sportster is finished in Porsche Red and has a wonderful glossy even shine; a few paint chips are hardly worth a mention. The chrome bumpers are in excellent condition and all side and bonnet trim articles are intact and perfect. The black integral vinyl coated fabric hood is new with the roof fitment bars in superb undamaged condition. The quality tonneau cover and full cockpit cover still remain with the car and are in excellent order. An additional bonus is an in-door protective high quality dust cover. Both Perspex slide-screens are in perfect condition. This is a remarkable bright survivor and perfect for immediate shows and fun outings. Let’s show off those proud union flag badges!!

INTERIOR - Wonderful and correct in every manor. The new black leather seats with white piping are presented in excellent order and are surprisingly comfortable in such a small cockpit. The MG sports steering wheel and new MG gear knob complement each other nicely. No dashboard wear is evident from the LHD conversion with the original switches surviving and subsequently re-used. An MG interior worthy of the overall low miles travelled.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION - The four cylinder engine with twin SU carburetors produce 46bhp and offer fun 948cc performance at 5500 rpm. The rugged, well proven engine is a simple unit with brilliant access and fantastic parts availability, every classic car owners dream! This example performs faultlessly and has been replaced during the cars 26 year restoration. The four-speed all synchromesh gearbox gives crisp gear changes and sporty performance coupled with remarkable fuel economy. Under the bonnet is nicely detailed and befits the rest of the car.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES – The factory fitted ‘Disc Wheels’ are in excellent condition with shining bright hub caps. Quality Goodyear Grand Prix S 145s R13 tyres have been fitted and offer plenty of tread remaining. The 7-inch all- round drum brakes do need a little time to get used to but, do work as they should.

HISTORY FILE - Heritage Trust (Certificate No: 89/3222) shows a production date of between 2-4 July 1962 with dispatch two days later. Interestingly, it left the factory with a red interior, red top and in RHD guise. The car lands in Germany in 1975 and changes hands 5 times before its last owner of some 26 years, embarked on a meticulous restoration to its current condition. An incredible bi-lingual (English/German) file highlights the owner’s tenacity in trying to change the registration document from RHD to LHD. Not easy at the time. Persistent to the end, the end product is a top quality restoration which is likely to attract any MG aficionado and indeed would complement any car collection.

We are delighted to offer this wonderful little car to the market place. Currently German registered, it can also be UK registered with our asking price including shipping to the UK and a new MOT.
