HISTORY FILE – Our US rubber bumper model was produced in February 1976 and subsequently shipped across the pond. In 2014 it lands on our European shores again in Holland before being registered in Germany in 2016. Its gentle restoration is evident, but clearly very sensibly done and will offer fun with incredible value for money to its next owner. Our nicely presented car is literally ready to be used for the summer of 2017.

EXTERIOR – Recently painted in BRG British Racing Green, our example shows an overall good finish and will not disappoint its new owner. A new quality soft top adds to the adventure and is accompanied by an appropriate chrome boot rack and old style suit case. All chrome and rubber seals are clearly new and, again, add to the nice appearance of this entry ‘classic car’ price bracket. Both front and rear bumpers are free of damage and present well.

INTERIOR – Possibly the highlight of the car: leather seats with matching head restraints, sit on newly fitted seat rails which can be quite tricky to move when not in regular use. The 13” wooden steering wheel is a nice touch and feels nice in the hand and is thicker that the usual Mota-Lita. A JVC radio/cd with Philips speakers is a modern touch, but can of course be changed. A tiny repair on the dash passenger side is evident but, not at all offensive. New carpets tidy everything up nicely with an added bonus of two rubber MG emblem mats. The half tonneau is of course – new!

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION – Our standard US engine model has of course a single Zenith – Stromberg carburettor offering a sprightly 49kW (69ps) and is a non-overdrive unit. We can, however, also offer a set of twin SU carburetors for those looking for that little extra power. That said, a smooth gear change matches the engine well and moves the car along quite nicely.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES – Another plus point for our US example are a fine set of ROstyle (Rubery Owen) wheels with shining bright chrome trim rings. New quality Continental 184 / 70 R14 tyres undoubtedly help to brake the car nicely. There is no spare wheel but, we can of course supply if requested.
