History File

Our LHD 1969 Mini Clubman Estate was initially registered in the Netherlands in April 1979 and has since received a comprehensive frame-off – Re-Creation – in a MK1 style restoration; Mini fans and aficionados alike will notice a complete front end re-styling. Chassis number XC2W2599238A was mostly restored in Holland before being finished by a Mini marque specialist in north Germany. In January 2022 it received German historical registration status and is now ready to be enjoyed by any new potential owner who will be thrilled to own it.

This 1979 example has received a complete front end re-creation styling in the form of a MK1 Mini. Initially blue when leaving the factory in England, it was changed during the frame-off restoration to Almond Green, which really suits the wee car. Contrasting plastic wheel arch and sill trim are a great combination and amplify the estate lines of the car. It’s a cracking paint finish and includes a detailed underside, also pictured below. All rubber seals have been replaced and all windows open and close with consummate ease. A couple of new Magnetex door mirrors with correct plinth’s sit proudly on each side.

The inside has received a complete re-fresh with almost all elements replaced: a tight fitting cream headlining is contrasted with new beige pvc seat covers, in the front and rear. New door panels and matching carpets throughout, new sun-visors and four new seat belts make this an almost brand new interior. The boot area, in particular, is absolutely immaculate and confirms the level of restoration undertaken.

Engine & Transmission

Lifting the bonnet reveals a tidy engine bay and a 986cc engine offering 31 kW/42 ps. It’s not the original engine but, a worthy replacement from a much later model and more than suitable for this fantastic restoration. Following the restoration, the Tachometer** was reset to zero.

Wheels, Tyres & Brakes

All four 10” wheels have been fully refurbished and are covered in quality 145/60 R10 Falken Sincera tyres. The 4 chrome hubcaps are all in like new condition. Brakes have been completely overhauled.
