This charming, fully restored Triumph TR2 is simply as good as it gets. Recently emerging from long term storage in a temperature controlled glass storage container, Cathedral Classics are delighted to bring this little beauty to the market place. Despite the storage, it has been regularly maintained by specialists at the renowned Lenkwerk classic car facility in Bielefeld, Germany. It is a rare European supplied car, initially registered in Austria before being completely restored by specialists in Germany. The restoration was completed without compromise and is clear for all to see; stunning green on green combination with back mohair roof and side windows, we believe there is no better on the market today. A classic Condition 1 (Zustand 1 Fahrzeug) example and now ready to be enjoyed and – driven as they should be. The car is also eligible for Targa Florio and Mille Miglia.
Exterior
It has to be said that the overall presence of this little car is just stunning. It’s beautifully painted in solid velvet green with just enough perfect chrome work all-round to balance the appearance nicely. Closer inspection will notice chrome bonnet locks to match the boot and spare wheel compartments; chrome rear wheel arches with adjoining chrome piping accentuate the cars flowing front and rear wings. The quality mohair hood with its 22 stud fasteners and side windows are all in perfect condition but, the main attraction here is the ultra-rare Steel Hardtop! It must be pointed out, however, that it’s never been fitted to the car since the restoration was completed – and the relevant angle brackets are not supplied. Superbly restored in-keeping with the rest of the car and finished without compromise. The original factory instruction book is supplied.
Interior
Initial impressions of the “suede” green leather interior is just how new it feels. The dominant 4 spoke steering wheel is complimented by clearly marked dials and switches, all of which are working perfectly; even the heater control, nicely placed next to overdrive switch is working as it should. The light green leather and matching carpets are a perfect contrast to the darker green exterior. The driver’s side carpet does, however, now show slight signs of wear, but nothing that a small mat wouldn’t cure. But the main feature must surely be the option of the neat Brooklands adjustable windows which can be used when the main screen is not in use.

Documents
Engine & Transmission
It’s fairly well documented just how bad the early Triumph records are but, on good authority from the British Heritage Trust department in England, they are fairly sure that the sequence of numbers on this car are matching: Chassis number: TS 4825 L0 Engine number: TS 51991- E Body number: 770944 Under the bonnet is absolutely immaculate as one would expect from such a comprehensive restoration. Both the 1991 cc engine and the overdrive gearbox have been fully overhauled.
Wheels, Tyres & Brakes
This gem of a TR2 has enhanced presence due to the more modern Borani wire wheels with triple winged knock-ons sat on Vredestein 185/70 x HR15 Tyres. The original Lockheed overhauled drum brakes offer more than adequate stopping power. The spare is a steel wire wheel.
