Three keys with two remotes – Jaguar alarm system. Remote Headlamp Convenience.

EXTERIOR – Finished in the superb combination of Sapphire blue / blue roof, this example received a high quality full respray in 2009 along with a new hood, sadly following an act of vandalism. Carried out by Grange Jaguar in Croydon with an invoice in the extensive history file for £6090 the quality is outstanding and has revitalized the car. An after-market front mesh grill replacing the standard horizontal bar looks great; the twin functional louvers on the bonnet and a small boot lid spoiler confirm the cars heritage. But don’t forget the Silverstone growler front and rear emblems. The car is a real head turner – anywhere you go!

INTERIOR – Sumptuous classic Ivory leather interior with burr walnut trim is just a lovely environment to be in. The headlining is tight and in keeping with the new roof fitted in 2009. Jaguar emblem matching carpet mats are in good condition. The accessory fitted chrome gear dial surrounds are a discrete addition. Both entry XKR sill plates are essentially in scuff free condition. The Ivory tonneau cover looks almost new along with its original storage bag.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION – The standard Mercedes 5 speed automatic transmission was fully serviced by Design XKR in 2011. Originally supposed to be sealed for life, many owners and enthusiast opted to have comprehensive service, oil and filter change. The gearbox changes up and down smoothly and the kick down is responsive. Tastefully up-graded with better braking and suspension modifications to improve the overall driving experience of this superb XKR Convertible. The all-important Timing Chain was changed at 68k miles. Supercharged from the standard XK8 290bhp, the XKR boasts 370 bhp and 387 lb ft (525Nm) torque and really does verge on ‘supercar’performance with 0-60mph possible in just 5.2 seconds. Seriously!

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES – Original Jaguar XKR alloys are all in good condition with minimal scuffing; shod with Dunlop Sport Maxx 245/45 ZR18 (larger than the XK8 17”) tyres all showing ample tread to suit the September 2016 MOT. Poly bush up-grades to all suspension components, along with new V-Mounts / sub-frame bushes and new front and rear ARB bushes/links, offer subtle improvements that make this example feel incredibly tight. The Sports mode functions as it should !!!

HISTORY FILE – Registered new on the 10th August 1998 by Stratstone in London, this example has no less than 13 Jaguar service stamps followed by many Jaguar specialist dealers’ receipts. Regularly serviced, the early years are documented in the service book with later ones backed up by receipts. Literally thousands have been spent on maintaining this example to a very high standard by a fastidious previous owner. His maintenance and service notes make fascinating reading, ** including the well documented new instrument cluster fitted in April 2015. The file also includes a copy of the original new car invoice for a whopping £68,030.

These cars are super quick, verging on ‘supercar’ performance and currently represent amazing value with this example superbly maintained making it a cut above the rest…
