Our 1965 MK1 Morris Mini Traveller was initially registered in England on the 18th of June 1965 as CDX602C, according to the cars original UK V5 registration document. Chassis number MAW4753402 would exchange hands several times over the next 20 years before finding its way to Germany as a personal export in the late 1980’s. The initial German owner, who would never register the car, apparently just ran out of steam with his planned restoration before selling to Seventy Seven Classic Cars in Germany, who would not only restore the car back to its former glory, but would retain and use it as a company car for almost 25 years and convert it to LHD. Prior to its eventual German registration on the 12th of February 1999, a nut and bolt, frame off restoration would take place which is nicely documented in a neat Photo Album. In 2020, the car finds its second German owner but, not before a fresh restoration was carried out and overseen by the previous owners, Seventy Seven Classic Cars, which included another frame-off respray and complete engine and brake overhaul, all fully documented. The result is simply sublime with the underside of the car nicely detailed confirming the love invested in the ‘wee box’. Any new potential owner will be absolutely thrilled. The car was allocated a worthy Condition 2+ by Classic Data in August 2020.
